They couldn’t ask for a better bounce-back spot, in a North London Derby against a Spurs team who are winless in eight consecutive league games. Their form is so bad that it cost Thomas Frank his job, and in came Igor Tudor, whose first game in charge will be on Sunday.
Both of these teams need to recapture momentum, and I think it will be the red side of North London who do just that.
Arsenal have dominated the derby in recent seasons. Spurs have not beaten their rivals in a competitive match since 2022. It’s been pure domination since then, as the Gunners have won six of the seven games since then, with one draw. In the first derby of the season, Arsenal ended up as 4-1 winners. Two or more goals have been scored in six of the last seven meetings between the teams.
Despite their recent struggles, Arsenal are still top of the league for a reason. Tottenham find themselves in a relegation battle for a reason. The Gunners will be very motivated to give a good account of themselves and couldn’t ask for a better match to right the ship.
