Top-five middleweights headline the bill on Saturday night, as No. 3-ranked Sean Strickland takes on No. 4 Anthony Hernandez in the main event of UFC Houston.
A former middleweight champion, Strickland (29–7, 11 KOs, 4 SUB) returns to the Octagon after getting taken to the cleaners by Dricus Du Plessis in their title rematch last February. Hernandez (15–2, 3 KOs, 9 SUB) enters on an eight-fight winning streak, a torrid run punctuated with a fourth-round submission of Roman Dolidze in August.
Hernandez enters as a -278 moneyline favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Strickland sits as a +225 underdog. The total is set at 4.5 rounds.

Arguably the most polarizing fighter on the active roster returns to the Octagon on Saturday night. Sean Strickland burst into stardom when he shockingly dethroned long-reigning middleweight champ Israel Adesanya in September 2023. But while he has remained in the spotlight, the brazen American’s reign atop the division was short-lived.
Strickland, 34, dropped the title in his first defense against Dricus Du Plessis in a controversial split-decision in January 2024. “Stillknocks” left no doubt in the rematch last February, battering the former champ en route to a 50–45 unanimous decision.
After a year-long hiatus, Strickland will attempt to re-enter the title conversation behind his signature “all-gas, no breaks” fight style. The 6-foot-1 striker is famous for persistently marching forward with high-volume pressure, protecting himself behind stabbing teep kicks and a Philly shell guard.
Anthony Hernandez
Anthony Hernandez is equally, if not more, frenetic in the Octagon than his opponent. The Mexican-American jiu-jitsu specialist fuels unabating grappling pressure with a bottomless gas tank, landing over six takedowns per 15 minutes. Equipped with a suffocating ground game, nine of his 15 wins have come by submission — including five guillotines, a pair of rear-naked chokes, one anaconda, and an arm triangle.
Hernandez, 32, is riding an eight-fight winning streak that dates back to February 2021. In a dominant 2025, “Fluffy” took down current No. 5-ranked Brendan Allen by UD and No. 11 Roman Dolidze by second-round submission.

Hernandez enters Saturday night’s main event with what appears to be one man standing between him and a title shot. Expect him to deal with Strickland exactly how he’s done with every one of his opponents over the last half-decade — by running right through him.
“Fluffy” is one of the few competitors on the active roster that can not only hang with, but actually outpace Strickland’s relentless pressure. Count on him to dictate the flow of the fight by smothering the former champion with his active hands and tireless grappling.
Strickland boasts sound wrestling and a granite chin — his only knockout loss since 2018 came from the nuclear left hook of Alex Pereira — which renders him increasingly tough to finish. Still, Hernandez should be able to break him down throughout the bout, which would open the door for a finish in the later rounds.
Expect the fight to last at least 3.5 rounds, but for Hernandez to ultimately leave Houston with his ninth consecutive victory.
