After a couple of weeks of high-octane hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, the men’s tournament wraps up on Sunday with a matchup between bitter rivals. The United States and Canada will battle for a gold medal in the morning (for North American viewers), pitting the two best teams in the world against each other with everything on the line.

Macklin Celebrini (+165)
I wrote up Macklin Celebrini in my initial player futures article as a candidate to lead Team Canada in total points. If it weren’t for linemate Connor McDavid, the young star would have a clear lead thanks to his 10 points. It’s been an excellent tournament for the teenager in his first selection to the main national team — in fact, excellent doesn’t quite do his level of play enough justice. Believe it or not, Celebrini leads all skaters in the tournament field with five goals. That’s a significant accomplishment for the 19-year-old, and I like him to pot another one in this matchup. While he’s an incredible young talent on his own, playing alongside a GOAT-level teammate like McDavid (in terms of sheer ability) has done wonders for Celebrini’s game. Having one of the best playmakers to ever step foot on the ice will do that, though. With the second-most shots on the Canadian roster, there’s a reason the youngster is one of the best bets for anytime goalscorer picks.
Jack Eichel (+225)
As for the Americans, there’s probably not a better value out there than Jack Eichel. The Vegas Golden Knights’ franchise player leads Team USA with 22 SOG so far, four more than the next-closest player. While he’s only recorded two goals to this point, Eichel certainly feels due for another. He’s shot just 9.09% in this tournament, down slightly from an 11.2% mark in NHL competition, and he remains a true two-way force who’s arguably surpassed captain Auston Matthews for the title of best center on this roster. He’s also averaging the most TOI of any forward on the roster as well while centering a top line with Matthew and Brady Tkachuk on either wing as well, so there’s some productive surrounding talent to take defensive pressure off of him. With the key role Eichel plays and high shot volume, one more goal could lurk around the corner — +255 odds place him fifth on the leaderboard, so there’s some nice value in this prop bet market.
Matt Boldy (+425)
At 24 years old, Matt Boldy is one of the youngest players on the Team USA roster. However, he’s looked comfortable for sure alongside Matthews and Jake Guentzel as a winger on the second line and has three points across five appearances in this tournament thus far. Yes, he has only one goal and is shooting just 5.56% over this span, but Boldy has pressured the net more than any other American not named Jack Eichel. His 18 SOG rank second on the roster, so he’s clearly not afraid to let the puck fly. Of course, the sample size here in Olympic play remains quite small, but the Minnesota Wild star has produced at an elite level in NHL play this season. He’s scored 32 goals across 52 games, tying him for third-most among skaters in the league while also putting an impressive 18.5% of his attempts in the back of the net. Shot volume and finishing ability make Boldy a very interesting play in this prop bet market with +425 odds of an anytime goal.
Cale Makar (+475)
Rounding out the betting card is another pick from the Canadian roster. Since we went with a shorter-value play earlier with Celebrini, it’s only right that we look further down on the odds leaderboard for better value. One player who comes to mind? Defenseman Cale Makar comes in with +475 odds in the anytime goalscorer market. He’s widely regarded as the best offensive talent in the NHL at his position and has 15 goals in league play, tied for fifth-most among defensemen. In these Winter Olympics, Makar has five total points but only one goal thus far despite taking 17 shots, tied for third-most on Team Canada. As the leader in TOI for his nation with over 22 minutes per game, he’ll be out there plenty given the stakes and will surely be engaged in the fight for gold.
