The PGA TOUR got off to a strong start to its second straight Signature Event on Thursday, but the weather caused a delay, pushing the end of Round 1 into Friday. Play will resume at 11:00 a.m. ET is at The Riviera Country Club, and the players on the course still have several holes to play before teeing off for Round 2. No tee times have been announced yet, but if the weather holds as expected, there should be plenty of scoring opportunities this Friday. The winds are calmer, and it’s possible that the field will be able to squeeze in the 1 1/2 rounds to get back on schedule. Let’s look ahead at some Round 2 picks, as we hunt for some best bets to consider from the limited field of 72 players taking on The Riviera Country Club.

I hit on two of my three Round 1 best bets, so hopefully we can keep the momentum rolling this Friday. Before we dive in, just a reminder that there is a cut for this week’s Signature Event. Whenever Round 2 wraps up, the top 50 and ties, along with any players within 10 strokes of the lead, will play Round 3 and Round 4 over the next few days to wrap up the West Coast swing before the PGA TOUR heads to Florida. Let’s get in some swings with the Round 2 best bets headed into the weekend.
3 Ball – Round 2: Ryan Fox (+174) over Aldrich Potgeiter and Sam Stevens
Potgeiter, Fox and Stevens were able to complete Round 1 before the round was suspended due to darkness. I love the value available backing Fox in Round 2 after the 39-year-old from New Zealand got off to a strong start on Thursday.
Fox earned two victories last season at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic and the RBC Canadian Open. He was a steady producer with 15 made cuts with seven top-25 finishes in 21 events. Fox played last fall on the DP World Tour, posting a pair of top-15 finishes at the FedEx Open de France and the Crown Australian Open and making the cut in all six of his World Tour events between the FedExCup Playoffs and his 2026 PGA TOUR debut.
He started the year on the PGA Tour with a pair of solid but relatively quiet T24 finishes at the WM Phoenix Open and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Championship. He caught fire on Thursday, though, racking up six birdies and two bogeys to move into a solo fourth-place spot on the leaderboard as play resumes on Friday.
Fox’s -4 was just one stroke ahead of a -3 round from Aldrich Potgeiter, who actually made one more birdie but also posted two more bogeys than Fox. Like Fox, Potgieter got his breakthrough win last season, but the 21-year-old South African is known for his huge driving distance more than his ability to grind it out on tougher courses like The Riv. He missed the cut at his first three PGA TOUR events this season, so even though he has high upside, it’s also possible that his Round 1 performance was an outlier.
Sam Stevens is the third member of this group, and he’s probably the more familiar name to American PGA TOUR fans. Stevens has made the cut in all five of his tournaments on the PGA TOUR this season, highlighted by a T6 at The American Express. Last week, though, Stevens faded to a T55 at Pebble Beach. He posted only an even-par 72 in Round 2 and Round 4 last week, and he got off to a rough start this week as well. He ended up +3 on the day with four bogeys and just one birdie in Round 1. Stevens faces an uphill battle to make the cut, and after his busy early season schedule, the weekend off may actually be a good thing for Stevens long term.
Fox’s good form and fast start make him a great play at these plus-money odds in this Round 2 trio.
3 Ball – Round 2: Min Woo Lee (+144) over Jordan Spieth and Daniel Berger
In another 3 ball with odds that I like for Round 2, Min Woo Lee takes on Jordan Spieth and Daniel Berger. The trio got through 10 holes of Round 1, with Lee at -1, Spieth at even par, and Berger at +2.
Lee came in with good momentum after last week’s T2 at Pebble Beach, and he continued that with one birdie and nine pars before play stopped.
Spieth has a pair of top-30 finishes and a missed cut this season before this week’s tournament. He had a birdie and a bogey early in his round and has a 13-foot birdie putt for his first shot when play resumes.
Berger has a pair of bogeys on his card and has yet to make a birdie. He finished T75 in the 80-player field last week at Pebble Beach and doesn’t seem to be in quite as good form as Lee and Spieth at this point.
This prop is only for the Round 2 scores from this trio, so how the rest of Round 1 plays out could shift the odds considerably. However, based on their form coming into the event and how the first 10 holes have played out, Lee is a great play as long as he stays at plus money.
Viktor Hovland (-104) v Cameron Young – Round 2
As we did in Round 1’s best bets, let’s simplify this last pick and go with just one head-to-head matchup rather than a trio. Hovland and Young were able to complete Round 1 and will tee off for Round 2 once the groups on the course finish up.
The 28-year-old Hovland came in with gathering momentum and posted a strong -2 in Round 1, while Young ended up with +1. Hovland opened his season with a T10 in Phoenix but struggled a little bit at Pebble Beach, where he finished T58. Throughout his career, Vik has played well at Riviera with four top-20 finishes in four appearances, including two top-five finishes. His approach game looked sharp on Thursday, and he will look to build on that strong round in Round 2 as he tries to get back into the conversation with the top golfers in the world.
Young also has a good history at Riviera, with three top-20 finishes in three appearances, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2022. After he finally got his breakthrough win last season, he has started 2026 with T22, T41 and T55 finishes. While Hovland found some momentum, Young had two bogeys, a double-bogey, and three birdies.
Since Hovland looked better in Round 1 and seems to be trending in the right direction, he’s a good value pick at almost even money in this head-to-head matchup for Round 2.
