This bet is my favorite Premier League pick of the weekend. I’m surprised Aston Villa are only -120 to win this one. It feels like they should be bigger favorites given the context of what this game could mean.
Aston Villa aren’t being talked about in the title race anymore for some reason, but they are only eight points behind the leaders with a game in hand. Three points on Saturday would put them only five points off the lead with 11 games to go. On the flip side, this game is important for the visitors as well. Leeds are looking to avoid relegation, as they are currently six points off the drop zone.
Aston Villa have had the edge over Leeds in recent seasons, beating them in three of their last four Premier League matches while drawing one. The Villans are also one of the best home sides in the league this season, facing one of the worst road teams. Villa have won nine of their 13 home games, while Leeds have only won a single road game of their 13 opportunities. Leeds have only picked up eight points from a possible 39 away from home, with only Wolves recording fewer.
This game has all the makings of an Aston Villa win, and it would get them right back into the thick of the title race.
