Which Love Is Blind Season 10 Couple Broke Up?
After appearing to be one of the strongest couples — in the pods and in Mexico — Chris and Jessica are no more.
Things seemingly started off OK, with the pair even discussing Chris moving into Jessica’s home, but then suddenly he grew distant.
He went out for drinks with a friend, went radio silent and didn’t come back for two nights. Then when he did return, he complained about the need for “constant communication” and dropped a bombshell on Jessica — he asked her if she thinks they have a good physical connection and admits that he’s having an issue with the fact that she doesn’t work out every day. He doesn’t know if the physical connection is there for him. Oh, and he’s still thinking about his other connection, Bri.
He talked in the pods about how important his active lifestyle is, but after seeming to indicate it wasn’t a concern now it’s back in a major way which ultimately leads to the end of their relationship. He’s open to continue to try because he thinks he and Jessica “have fun together,” but it’s hard for her to hear everything he’s said and move forward with the relationship.
Jessica is blown away by the fact that he is bringing up the fact she doesn’t work out every day. She notes that she’s at the hospital and was clear that she was never going to be able to go to Pilates classes every day. Jessica feels like if someone had told her just a few days before that she would be having this conversation she would have called them insane. She says if her body isn’t good enough for him she’s not going to beg him to still love her.
Jessica says she was in love with Chris and for him to suddenly do this 180, she would never be able to look at him the same way. She says she’s extremely disappointed and hurt, but she knows she’ll be OK. Jessica says she’s always taken care of herself and doesn’t want to be with somebody unless they’re going to make her life better.
MY TAKE: Starting a sentence with “To be honest” doesn’t then give you immunity from the repercussions of what you’re about to say. It just doesn’t. Frankly, I’m shocked by Chris’ shock that saying he has a problem with Jessica’s body, that he isn’t sure if he can get there with her physically and that he still thinks about his No. 2 connection led to this breakup. Attraction is certainly something that is important and can’t be faked, but he certainly didn’t cover himself in glory with the way he handled this breakup conversation, nor with the talking head immediately after which, to use his phrase, to be honest made him look like a giant jerk.
And his drunken behavior later in Episode 9 at the mixer? Talking about how hot Bri is and how much he wanted to talk to her, Connor be damned? His LOUD conversation with the girls? His discussion with Bri about Connor, undermining their relationship and putting on the full court press? Chris made a FULL-ON heel turn. Shoutout to Amber for keeping it real and saying he doesn’t care about anyone so she doesn’t care about him, grilling him on if he thinks he’ll be able to get another beautiful doctor before walking away. Mic drop, right there.
If you asked me to predict which couple would be the first to call it quits, it would not have been Chris and Jessica. But, to be honest, Jessica looks like she dodged a bullet here and deserves better than the way she was treated by Chris, in my opinion.
