Dayton vs. George Mason College Basketball prediction, preview
Four of George Mason’s five losses this season have come in true road games, going 17-1 in all other games. The Patriots are a near perfect 15-1 at home, winning by more than 11 points per game in their own arena. That said, George Mason is on its worst stretch of the season, dropping three of four games.
The Patriots lost their first home game of the season earlier this month to Duquesne, and after bouncing back against Saint Joe’s, went 0-2 on a two-game road trip. Now they return home, where they’ve been at their best, and face a Dayton team that’s been in a funk for a month now. The Flyers hung around with some pretty stiff competition early in the season, playing a far more difficult non-conference schedule than George Mason. But the Flyers have come undone since mid-January, losing five of their last seven games.
The skid started with Dayton going on a four-game losing streak in January, with three of the losses as a favorite of 6.5 or more. The Flyers have lost each of their last four road games by nearly 17 points per, but did bounce-back with a home win over Davidson on Sunday. While Dayton stopped the bleeding a bit with the win, George Mason will be hungry off consecutive losses and returning to a strong home court advantage.
