We’re square in the middle of the NBA All-Star break. While the league’s biggest stars are set to compete with one another in Inglewood, the league is gearing up for the stretch run. The dust of the trade deadline has settled, the playoff picture has begun to take shape, and we’re in for one heck of a finish to the season.
What are the championship odds looking like with under 30 games to go?

Despite a recent slide, the Oklahoma City Thunder are still overwhelming favorites to repeat as champions at +130. The Nuggets are behind them at +450 after taking the Thunder to seven games in last year’s playoffs. Those two are the true monsters in the West.
Behind those two is a pack of beasts from the East. The Cavaliers have moved to the forefront following their blockbuster acquisition of James Harden. They’re followed by the Knicks, then the Pistons, who own the NBA’s best winning percentage. The Celtics, despite all the losses they have suffered, are tied with Detroit at +1500.
Two Texas teams, the Spurs and Rockets, round out the top eight. Both have the star power — along with real question marks. Then you get into the true long shots like the Lakers, Wolves, Sixers, Warriors, and so on.
Oklahoma City’s floundering in the middle of the season has opened up the field a bit. Many teams still have to get their health back or find some cohesion after making deadline moves. It’s going to be an exciting sprint to the finish. Buckle up.
