In December 2025, an announcement was made that a new Star Wars game would be released in 2026. It’s title would be Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Now we finally have a gameplay trailer, and it looks peak.
I have tingles. Do you have them, too?? Let’s break down this trailer, and all the dynamics of the game.
Just look at the scenes. The build of the pod racers. The high-speed crash scenes. Beautiful terrains across several different planets. It looks extraordinary. But, obviously, we are the most excited about the final few seconds.
Yes, that is Sebulba’s pod racer. And our GOAT Ben Quadinaros. Maybe he has a chance to get his lick back after famously not getting off the ground in the Star Wars: Episode I pod racing sequence. We get the classic and unforgettable sound of Sebulba’s pod, and the alternate angles of his racer look outstanding.
But this is going to go far beyond Tatooine. We’ve got snowscapes, forests, and all manner of different landscapes to choose from here. Odds are pretty good we’ll be seeing some familiar faces and races.
It also seems that the gameplay is going to be quite comprehensive, with a lot of different modes to choose from.
12 racer online multiplayer? Yes PLEASE. That sounds like many long hours spent on the mic with friends, racing and trash-talking into the wee hours of the night. But the solo campaign sounds promising, along with time trials and specialized racing conditions. This is pure speculation on my part, but the variety in game modes points toward a lot of customization. Different racers, outfits, effects, and perhaps different ways to alter your racer. Speed, turning, acceleration, et cetera. Think Mario Kart-style customizing.
Perhaps the condition races will relate to the worlds in which the races take place. Lava races on Mustafar? Snow storms on Ando Prime? Sign me right up.
We don’t yet know exactly when the game will be released; the official Star Wars site only says 2026. Now that the gameplay trailer has been released, we can expect more details to leak. More game details, a specific launch day, and much more. I’m giddy with excitement.
