Though the Slam Dunk Contest has lost its allure, the State Farm 3-Point Contest remains a star-studded spectacle — pitting the league’s top marksmen in a high-stakes shootout.
Rookie sensation Kon Knueppel headlines the eight-man field, loaded with a bevy of All-Stars and a pair of former contest champions, including a returning Damian Lillard.

Kon Knueppel | Guard, Charlotte Hornets (+350)
Kon Knueppel is on pace to obliterate the rookie regular-season three-point record, and he’s already drawing comparisons to Stephen Curry — though he’s not entertaining them. The standout Hornets guard has knocked down the NBA’s second-most threes, 179, at a 43.1% clip. Facing the Mavericks on Jan. 29, Knueppel drained a franchise rookie-record eight threes en route to setting a career-high of 34 points.
Damian Lillard | Guard, Portland Trail Blazers (+450)
Damian Lillard makes his long-awaited return to the Trail Blazers on Saturday night, albeit in a peculiar fashion. He’s looking to join Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only three-time winners of the 3-Point Contest. Saturday marks Dame’s sixth time participating in the event and his first on-court appearance since tearing his Achilles during last season’s playoff run with the Bucks.
Jamal Murray | Guard, Denver Nuggets (+550)
Jamal Murray is seizing every opportunity after finally being named an All-Star for the first time in his career. The Nuggets guard is burying 3.2 triples per game at an impressive 42.5% clip — both career highs. Against the Pacers in December, he drilled a career-high 10 treys on 11 attempts in a 52-point explosion.
Donovan Mitchell | Guard, Cleveland Cavaliers (+600)
The NBA leader in total threes will look to stay hot in his third trip to the All-Star Weekend shootout. Donovan Mitchell makes his third trip to the event, having already knocked down 185 triples at a 37.6% rate.
Tyrese Maxey | Guard, Philadelphia 76ers (+650)
Before starting in the All-Star game, Tyrese Maxey will become Philadelphia’s first 3-Point Contest participant since Kyle Korver in 2005. Maxey has buried the NBA’s fourth-most threes (174) with 37.9% efficiency.
Devin Booker | Guard, Phoenix Suns (+750)
Another former champion, Devin Booker won the 3-Point Contest in 2018 with a then-record score of 28 points in the final round. However, he enters his fifth trip to the event posting his fewest threes per game since his rookie season (1.7) at a career-worst percentage (31.1%).
Norman Powell | Guard, Miami Heat (+800)
Norman Powell participated in last year’s 3-Point Contest and will now look to keep the trophy in Miami, with reigning champion Tyler Herro nursing a rib injury. The Heat guard averages 2.9 threes per game at a solid 39.6% clip, and he drilled a career-high nine triples against the Pelicans on Jan. 4.
Bobby Portis | Forward, Milwaukee Bucks (+1100)
An outside-the-box pick at first glance, Bobby Portis has quietly been one of the league’s most accurate marksmen this season. He’s averaging a career-high 1.9 threes per game while shooting a blistering 45% from deep — well-positioned to join Karl-Anthony Towns (2022), Kevin Love (2012), and Dirk Nowitzki (2006) as the fourth-ever big man to win the 3-Point Contest.
