New Mexico vs. Grand Canyon College Basketball prediction, preview
New Mexico started the season 11-0 at home, including a blowout win over Grand Canyon. Now it might be time for the Antelopes to get their revenge on one of the best home courts in basketball.
The Lobos have slowed down since the hot start at home, dropping each of their last two games, both as a home favorite to Utah State and Boise State. New Mexico is 2-3 on the road in conference play, but was favored in each of the three wins, and the underdog in the pair of losses.
Grand Canyon is off a road loss to UNLV over the weekend, and will look to bounce-back at home, as it has all season. The ‘Lopes are 11-2 at home, where they’re riding a five-game winning streak in Mountain West play. The ‘Lopes are a perfect 7-0 following a loss this season, with six of those wins coming at home.
I’m looking for an aggressive version of this Grand Canyon team off the loss, fueled by one of the most electric home courts in the country, and an elite defense. New Mexico’s recent struggles won’t get any better against this Antelopes defense, which ranks 21st nationally on KenPom. I’ll continue to ride GCU at home here, particularly in a bounce-back spot that’s been kind all season.
