The PGA TOUR heads back to Cali for the final two weeks of the West Coast swing, which are both Signature Events. The first of those two tournaments tees off on Thursday at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the Monterey Peninsula in northern California. The 80 professionals will play alongside 80 amateurs in Round 1 and Round 2, before just the 80 pros (no cut) play the weekend. For Round 1, the field is split between Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course. Spyglass Hill is typically more difficult relative to par, but it is also more protected, so the wind can make Pebble Beach harder if it kicks up.
You can build your betting card on DK Sportsbook at any time throughout the tournament with a wide variety of offerings, including everything from single-player props to full-field overall props and everything from one-hole results to where a specific player will place for the entire four-round event.
This week, I ran down some of my best bets for the entire tournament earlier on Wednesday, and in this post, we’ll focus on my three best bets for Round 1:
Si Woo Kim 2 Ball – Round 1 over J.J. Spaun (-134)
I highlighted Kim in my Cash game picks for this week, and I love getting him in this head-to-head matchup with J.J. Spaun. While Spuan broke through and won the U.S. Open last year, he hasn’t started fast this season at all, while Kim is scalding hot coming back to Pebble Beach, where he has been very good in the past.
Kim has opened the year with a T11 in Hawaii, a T6 at The American Express, a T2 at the Farmers Insurance Open, and a T3 last week in Phoenix. The Farmers Insurance Open was played at Torrey Pines, which shares a lot of similarities with Pebble Beach, where these two players will tee off at 11:58 p.m. ET.
Kim leads the field in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green and Strokes Gained: Approach over the last 20 rounds. With Pebble Beach’s small greens, Strokes Gained: Approach is the key stat to chase this week. Kim’s iron game has resulted in a T14 and a T12 in the last two years at this event.
Spaun withdrew prior to last week’s WM Phoenix Open, after missing the cut at Torrey Pines. He is expected to return this week, but he hasn’t played that well in this event in his career. missing the cut four straight times before a T16 in 2022, followed by a T54 and T33 the last two years.
Kim has the advantage in just about every category coming into this matchup, making him one of my Round 1 best bets this week.
First to be Under Par – Round 1: Sepp Straka over Jacob Bridgeman (-120)
If you’re looking for a quick-hitter to jump-start your bankroll on Thursday, the “First to be Under Par” market is a fun one to jump into. At 12:24, Sepp Straka and Jacob Bridgeman tee off on the back-9 of Pebble Beach, and this bet will settle as soon as one of them managed to get under par. Depending on the matchup, that just takes a hole or two, while other times it can not hit for the full round.
In this matchup, though, Straka has a clear advantage. The 32-year-old got off to a fast start at last year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, opening with a pair of 65s before settling back into a T7. He also had a solid week in 2024, finishing T26. Bridgeman doesn’t have any course history at Pebble Beach, although he has poste three top-20 finishes to start his 2026.
Straka struggled at The American Express to start his season, but he was significantly better last week in Phoenix. He ended up T18 and ranked in the top 30 in Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green, Strokes Gained: Approach and Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee.
Bridgeman finished T18 with him, and the two will be a fun pairing to follow. Since he ahs the history here and a more proven all-around game, I’ll take Straka to get under par before Bridgeman in Round 1.
Scottie Scheffler U67.5 (-105)
Schefller tees off at 1:20 p.m. ET at Pebble Beach, and the No. 1 player in the world will look to get off to a much better start this week than he did in Phoenix last week. Scheffler stumbled to an uncharacteristic 73 on Thursday and then blitzed the field with a 65-67-64 finish to the week to almost make up the head start he gave the rest of the field.
While he may not be perfect this week, I don’t see him starting slow again. If anything, I think he’ll come out of the gates too fast and possibly wear down by the end of the tournament. The 29-year-old doesn’t wear down much, though, and has finished in the top 10 in each of his appearances at this event. He was just working his way back from a hand injury last year at this event but started and finished with a 67.
The weather is the wild card, but it’s not supposed to be bad until later in the week. The wind is expected to be down in the morning, so Scottie should be able to get off to a much better start than last week. Getting his under at almost even-money is a great pace to finish my Round 1 best bets for Pebble Beach.
