It’s here. Super Bowl LX has arrived, and it promises to be an electric clash between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Who is going to take home the ultimate prize in sports on Sunday?

Seahawks vs. Patriots Prediction
The Seahawks are the favorite here, and for good reason. It’s rare to have a team with arguably the top offense and top defense in the league. But they’ve built an incredible roster, and deserve to be here.
New England is also great on both sides of the ball, and much like the Seahawks, few saw them getting this far. A huge leap in development from Drake Maye, combined with a cohesive defense under Mike Vrabel, has made them AFC champions once again.
No matter who wins, this will be a huge surprise relative to preseason expectations. But only one team can walk home the winner. Let’s look at the big matchups that could decide this Super Bowl.
One I’ll be watching closely is the showdown outside between Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Christian Gonzalez. JSN was arguably the best receiver in football this year, while Gonzo was one of the top shutdown corners when healthy. Can he stick with the best route runner around? And if he does, can Sam Darnold and the Seattle passing attack adjust?
Another defensive matchup worth watching is the New England interior. Milton Williams has been well worth the price they paid in the offseason, and has been a problem for opposing offensive lines all year long stuffing the run and rushing the passer. Can this vaunted Seahawks interior offensive line keep him and Christian Barmore contained?
The status of Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane is worth watching. He’s perhaps the most important player in this game with a truly questionable health status. If they don’t have Spillane, containing the Seahawks rushing game becomes much more difficult. As if Kenneth Walker III needed more help.
On the other side, so much of the Patriots’ hopes fall on Maye’s decision-making. He’s got a bit of a gunslinger mentality, willing to try difficult throws that he often completes. But he’s also prone to taking sacks and losing fumbles while he tries to extend plays. Seattle has a great pass rush and a defense that thrives on disguising coverages. Can they trick Maye into forcing bad throws and making mistakes? He won’t be able to get away with multiple turnovers in this one.
How the Patriots control the middle of the field on offense is a huge question. They need Rhamondre Stevenson to punish with his runs up the middle. Hunter Henry is poised for success against a defense that has not covered tight ends well this season. If they can run well between the tackles and find passing windows over the middle, that opens up the deep ball outside the numbers. Kayshon Boutte and Pop Douglas love winning in man coverage down the sidelines, and they live for matchups like this.
I haven’t even scratched the surface on all the little matchups throughout this contest that will play a role. But we have to do the best we can to make a call.
Seahawks vs. Patriots Prediction
There’s a mental game I like to play with Super Bowl matchups. Of course, it’s easy to imagine a close win for either of these teams. I can also imagine a world where the Seahawks’ sheer talent and schematic excellence on both sides of the ball lead to a blowout. But I can’t picture the same for the Patriots. It sounds simple, and maybe it’s silly, but it makes sense to me. The analysis can only take me so far, and I have to trust my gut in picking the best team in the NFL to win this game.
