Seattle obviously played it safe, running the ball all three times to force timeouts. Walker housed a 49-yard touchdown, but it was nullified due to a holding call.
Patriots respond but just over two minutes remain
It’s prevent time, you know. Maye was slicing up the Seahawks’ prevent defense and found Rhamondre Stevenson on a shovel pass with just over two minutes remaining. The Patriots failed the two-point conversion, and will attempt an onside kick on the kickoff, in hopes of a miraculous 16-point comeback.

Walker’s strong running leads to three more points
Walker is up to 131 rushing yards now after totaling 27 more on Seattle’s last drive. Myers notched his fifth field goal of the game, which increased the lead to 15 points with just over five minutes remaining.
Maye throws his first interception of the game
Well, that didn’t last long. It was a promising seven-play, 40-yard drive for New England, as Maye made a play with his legs and found open receivers, but he tainted that by throwing a poor deep ball that resulted in his second turnover of the night.
Patriots get the ball back down 12 with under 11 minutes remaining
It wasn’t a three-and-out, but it was close. Darnold nearly hit Shaheed on a deep ball, but he overthrew him, and now the Patriots will have a chance to shrink the lead. Seattle’s special teams made a huge play; however, and the Patriots will have to start from their own four-yard line.
Patriots answer three plays later!
Perhaps the Patriots just needed the Seahawks to score a touchdown to wake them up because they responded just three plays later. Maye found Mack Hollins for a 35-yard touchdown, which puts him in first place for King of the End Zone. New England still finds itself down by two possessions, though, and the time is ticking.
FIRST TOUCHDOWN ALERT: A.J. Barner hauls in 16-yard touchdown
It only took four quarters, but we have our first touchdown of the game! Darnold found Barner for the touchdown, which cashes for Barner first TD scorer bettors. With this also being the only touchdown of the game, Barner now leads the way for the “King of the End Zone” promotion. Seattle leads by 19 with just under 14 minutes remaining. FIRST TURNOVER OF THE GAME!
The Patriots didn’t go three-and-out, thanks to a defensive holding call, but they clearly cannot have nice things tonight. Maye was sacked on third down and fumbled, and Seattle recovered and will start at the Patriots’ 37-yard line. The second-year QB has now fumbled the ball four times this postseason, while also throwing two interceptions. Are we finally approaching our first touchdown of the game? One can only hope…
Seattle goes three-and-out for second straight drive
The third quarter is nearly over, but these teams are making sure it takes as long as possible by going three-and-out and throwing incompletions that stop the clock. Seattle has out-gained New England, 77 to 21, during the second half, and hold a two-possession lead, so safe playcalling and the running game will be the bread and butter moving forward.
The Patriots are consistent, that’s for sure
It is starting to look a bit bleak for the Patriots, as they went three-and-out again. Maye was sacked for the fourth time. On the other sideline in terms of news, Smith-Njigba was seen walking to the locker room and is now being evaluated for a concussion. If he is unable to return, that is a massive hit to Seattle’s passing game.

Darnold was sacked for an eight-yard loss on the first play of the drive, and the Seahawks punted for the fourth time tonight. Some bad news may be brewing for them, too, as JSN was seen getting his ankle/leg taped up and looked at on the sidelines and has since headed to the medical tent for further evaluation.

Despite Henderson picking up nine yards on the first play of the drive, he was stuffed on the following play, and then Maye missed an open Douglas for the first down. It is still only a 12-point game and we’re all aware of New England’s Super Bowl voodoo magic, but Pats fans have to be feeling rather nervous watching the offense fail to even move the ball.
Myers notches his fourth field goal of the game
If this game continues to trend in this direction, we may be looking at Super Bowl MVP, Jason Myers, folks. Seattle’s opening drive of the second half was promising, going 69 yards on 10 plays, and settling for another field goal. Darnold worked some magic with his legs, Walker eclipsed 100 rushing yards and both JSN and Rashid Shaheed hauled in receptions on chunk plays.
Death, taxes and the Patriots struggling offensively
Vrabel’s halftime adjustments didn’t seem to work, as New England continued its three-and-out trend. Maye had two incompletions, while TreVeyon Henderson notched seven yards on his third carry of the night. The Pats have totaled just 19 yards across their last five drives––that doesn’t translate to winning football.

Seattle increases its lead to nine points on the final drive of the first half
The Seahawks drained over two and a half minutes of clock and nearly found the red zone for the third time tonight. Kupp dropped a pass that just barely grazed the turf, but the football gods were kind to Seattle, as Darnold was nearly picked off by Christian Gonzalez on an end zone target to JSN. The Seahawks are -600 Moneyline favorites at halftime.
The Patriots picked up a first down…but punt again
Maye was able to find Demario Douglas for nine yards on 3rd-and-7, but faced pressure on the following two passing plays. It also didn’t help that Seattle downed its previous punt on New England’s two-yard line.
The Puntapalooza continues
The Seahawks picked up two first downs but ultimately stalled out for their third punt of the game. Walker III picked up both first downs himself––one via the ground and the other via the air––but had a pass bounce off his hands on third down. He has been the most impactful player in this game for both sides (with the exception of Myers, who has six points himself), totaling 86 rushing yards across 12 carries.
Second straight three-and-out for New England
You aren’t going to believe this, but the Seahawks’ pass rush sacked Maye yet again for a big loss. The Patriots have run six plays and racked up just three yards across their last two drives. Maye has showcased his magic all season, but his offensive line simply isn’t giving him enough time to even make plays.
Seahawks take 6-0 lead with 11:16 remaining
Kenneth Walker III was dialed in during Seattle’s fourth drive, picking up 59 yards on back-to-back rushing attempts, however, the team faltered once it entered the red zone again, and it had to settle for three points. Darnold may be starting to see ghosts again, as he has completed just 4/13 passes for 54 yards.
Patriots punt again
We might be looking at a defensive game, folks. Two runs, one on first down and one on third down, with a near interception for Coby Bryant in between, forced New England to punt again. The Patriots have just three first downs and 39 total yards as the second quarter begins.

Not quite a three-and-out but…
Seattle’s third drive lasted 3:10, but only consisted of six plays, resulting in 10 yards. The Patriots’ pass rush is getting to Darnold, and the “force it to JSN” method isn’t working quite yet, failing to haul in either of his targets during that drive.
Another sack stalls New England’s drive
Kayshon Boutte hauled in a 21-yard catch on the first play of the drive, but two bad plays followed by another sack forced New England into its second punt of the game. Maye is 4/5 for 34 yards, along with a scramble for 11 yards.
Seahawks’ second drive
Good ol’ three-and-out, but it was so close to being magical if Darnold was able to hit Jaxon Smith-Njigba on this broken play.
Patriots punt following eight-play, 28-yard drive
New England’s Achilles heel has been its inability to protect Drake Maye, and it showed up on the team’s opening drive. The ball was moving, and the Patriots notched two first downs, but a sack that resulted in a 10-yard loss stalled all momentum.
Seahawks notch three points on opening drive
Sam Darnold hit A.J. Barner and Cooper Kupp on back-to-back chunk plays, which propelled the Seahawks into the red zone. Seattle ended up settling for three points, thanks to a 33-yard field goal by the trusty Jason Myers, who went 14-of-15 on 30-to-39-yard field goals during the regular season.

The ol’ saying “tails never fails” failed for the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. The call was heads, and the Patriots elected to defer until the second half.
