A few hours before the start of Super Bowl 60, the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams were tied for the lowest odds to win Super Bowl 61 at +950.
After Seattle’s 29-13 dominating victory in Super Bowl 60, nothing changed.
Now, will Seattle be able to repeat?
Well, there have only been nine teams in the history of the NFL to go back-to-back:

- 1974-75 Pittsburgh Steelers
- 1988-89 San Francisco 49ers
- 1992-93 Dallas Cowboys
- 1997-98 Denver Broncos
- 2003-04 New England Patriots
- 2023-24 Kansas City Chiefs
It’s incredibly difficult to accomplish the feat because teams can improve very fast in the NFL via free agency and the draft. In addition, Super Bowl champions often lose key players as they cash in. Most importantly, though, football is a brutal game and a team has to have good fortune on the injury front.
Seattle doesn’t have the “franchise” quarterback that can carry a team on his back like Patrick Mahomes, but the Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the league. And it is often said that defense wins championships.
The Rams are tied with the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl next season. If Matthew Stafford returns, Los Angeles has as good a chance as any because he was one of the few to crack the Seahawks defensive code. In the playoffs, Stafford put up 374 yards and three touchdowns. In the two regular season games, Stafford went for 457 yards and three touchdowns in one and 130 yards and two touchdowns in the other.
