Finally, the time has come. We’re down to two teams, as a pair of the best defenses in football face off in Santa Clara for Super Bowl 60. That said, both of these squads are more than capable of racking up the points. Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks offense has been red-hot, while MVP runner-up Drake Maye and the New England Patriots have answered the call time and time again. Here are my top anytime TD Super Bowl scorer picks for Patriots vs. Seahawks on DraftKings Sportsbook!
Rashid Shaheed (+350)
Running down the list of individual matchups ahead of Super Bowl 60, Shaheed seems the most likely candidate (outside of the regular suspects) to cause problems for New England’s secondary. The Patriots will certainly have their eyes glued to Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, with other DBs capable of handling Cooper Kupp and linebackers who can cover AJ Barner.
However, there’s no clear cut “answer” to Shaheed. The speedster brings immense big-play potential to the table, something we just saw the Patriots struggle to contain early in the AFC Championship against Denver. Carlton Davis has the size in short-to-intermediate yardage situations, but in a straight sprint, Shaheed is gonna burn him. Marcus Jones could have the pace to keep up with him, but the odds favor Seattle’s receiver in jump-ball scenarios. The result is pick-your-poison for Mike Vrabel. Shaheed will be a threat to find the end zone on a deep ball or in short yardage situations in a myriad of methods.
Mack Hollins (+425)
If there was ever a non-star who just seems built for the big moment, it’s Mack Hollins. The often barefooted, enigmatic receiver is the glue that holds New England’s receiving corps together. The veteran is always eager to make the right play, whether it’s a key block or clutch third-down conversion through the air. Hollins may technically be the third or fourth wideout on the depth chart, but he’s an instrumental cog in Josh McDaniels’ offensive machine.
While Seattle boasts arguably the best defense in the league, their pass rush is actually relatively mundane. The Patriots should have multiple opportunities for longer-developing plays, which have consistently resulted in big plays by Hollins. At 6’4, he’s a very capable jump-ball threat in the end zone, and he has the athleticism to run away from DBs in big-play situations. While a lot of the attention will be on Stefon Diggs and Kayshon Boutte, I fully expect a big game from the former Super Bowl champion.
