The Patriots and Seahawks meet in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 PM ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Seattle is favored by 4.5 points and this game carries a total of 45.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Below, I dive into how many points the Patriots will score in this Super Bowl matchup.

Patriots O/U 19.5 Points

The Patriots are the underdog for this Super Bowl and one of the main reasons is the Seahawks’ defense. Seattle is giving up the fewest PPG (17.1) and the second-fewest yards per play in the NFL (4.7). That being said, the Seahawks’ defense has shown some vulnerability as of late. Just two weeks ago when facing the high-powered Rams’ offense in the NFC Championship, Seattle gave up 27 points. The Seahawks also surrendered 37 points to Los Angeles back in Week 16.

The Rams lead the league in PPG (30.0), but the Patriots aren’t far behind (27.2). New England also ranks third in yards per play (5.9), compared to Los Angeles, who ranks first (6.1). The Patriots only scored a season-low 10 points in the AFC Championship, but this was mostly a product of the snowy conditions in Denver. In better, but still cold conditions in Foxboro, Massachusetts, New England lit an elite Texans’ defense up for 28 points in the divisional round. Houston ranked second in PPG allowed (17.3).

With the Super Bowl being played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the Patriots will be competing in the best weather conditions they have seen in months. Sunday is calling for partly cloudy conditions and temperatures in the mid 60s, which is going to feel like a tropical vacation for this New England team that has competed in frigid temperatures for all three of its playoff games.

With Drake Maye having an MVP-caliber season and the Patriots boasting a strong rushing attack, New England is a potent offense that can’t be overlooked. Maye leads the NFL in yards per pass (8.7) and New England ranks fifth in rushing yards per game (129.2). The Patriots have scored at least 24 points in 16 of their 20 games this season and their implied team total being just 19.5 points for this Super Bowl is ridiculous, regardless of the Seahawks’ defense. Offensive mastermind Josh McDaniels has had two weeks to draw up plays for this matchup, so New England for over 19.5 points is one of the best bets for this Super Bowl.
