Best NHL props for Wednesday 2/4/26
Morgan Geekie Anytime Goalscorer (+175)
Among skaters with at least 200 minutes of ice time, Geekie has scored the fifth-most 5v5 goals and ranks eighth in 5v5 goals per 60. Tonight, he will face a Panthers squad that has dropped four straight games. Florida has allowed at least four goals in three of those games, while Boston has scored at least three goals in each of its past six outings. It’s been a rough season for the Panthers, plagued by injuries and poor goaltending, and as a result, the club ranks 24th in 5v5 goals against per 60. Geekie has netted at least one goal in five of his past seven outings, including four across his past three road games.
Ross Colton 3+ Shots on Goal (+120)
I have no idea why this prop is plus odds. First, Colton has cleared 3+ SOG in eight of his past 12 outings, including five of the past seven home games. Second, the Sharks have allowed the third-most shots per game. They’ve particularly struggled against limiting opposing wingers, ranking first in shots allowed to the position. Despite a significant drop in ice time compared to those ranked around him, Colton ranks fifth on the Avalanche in shots. Among skaters with at least 200 minutes of ice time, Colton ranks second in 5v5 shots per 60 and ninth in 5v5 shot attempts per 60. He is a shoot-first player, and he draws one of the best possible matchups for his position.
Connor Hellebuyck Over 22.5 Saves (-120)
This line is too low, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it move as puck drop approaches. Hellebuyck has cleared this line in 26-of-35 games this season, including in 13-of-17 home games. While the Canadiens rank 24th in shots per game this season, they’ve been a bit more consistent recently, averaging 28.1 shots per game across their last seven games. During that span, they’ve averaged 3.7 goals per game, and in order to score goals, you must shoot the puck. The Jets rank 15th in shots allowed per game, but they surprisingly allow more shots when playing at home, and Hellebuyck has cleared this line in eight of his past 10 starts.
