Brown is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game with knee and hamstring issues, per the Celtics.
Brown missed last Friday’s game with hamstring tightness and a knee contusion as well, so he’s likely still dealing with those same problems.
If Brown doesn’t play tonight, Baylor Scheierman could potentially enter the starting lineup. Forward Sam Hauser (thumb) has been ruled out, leaving Boston a little more shorthanded than usual.
Brown, a 29-year-old former Finals MVP, is enjoying the best season of his career. In a featured role without Jayson Tatum sharing the floor with him, the wing leads the NBA in shot attempts and is producing 29.5 points with 7.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Brown notably comes off back-to-back outings of 30+ points as well.
The Celtics are 32-18 on the campaign, sitting third in the Eastern Conference. They just traded for big man Nikola Vucevic yesterday, adding another key piece who should fit seamlessly for a potential playoff run.
