The Stadium Course (par 71, 7,261 yards, poa trivialis/bentgrass/ryegrass overseed greens) at TPC Scottsdale will be hosting the WM Phoenix Open this week. TPC Scottsdale has been the home of the WM Phoenix Open since 1987, and this week, there will be 121 players competing with a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured a cut parlay to consider for the WM Phoenix Open.
WM Phoenix Open Cut Parlay
- Brian Harman to make the cut (-172)
- Emiliano Grillo to make the cut (-170)
- Tom Kim to the make the cut (-152)
Brian Harman to make the cut
Harman is coming off a missed cut at the American Express, but this is only his fourth missed cut in his last 20 starts. Plus, that missed cut was very avoidable, as Harman was assessed a two-stroke penalty in the first round for mistakenly hitting one of his group member’s balls. Harman has gained strokes on approach in four of his last five starts and should get back to his cut making ways at TPC Scottsdale. Harman finished T25th at this venue last season, and in 13 starts at TPC Scottsdale, he has only failed to make the cut one time.
Emiliano Grillo to make the cut
Grillo has made 7-of-10 cuts at TPC Scottsdale and finished T38th at the Farmers Insurance Open last week, marking his seventh made cut in his last 10 starts. Grillo ranked seventh in SG APP for the event and closed the tournament with a 5-under 67 at the South Course of Torrey Pines. Grillo ranks 10th in SG APP when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds. If he can manage even an average performance with his putter, Grillo should safely make the cut this week.
Tom Kim to make the cut
While Kim hasn’t contended in a long time, he continues to be a consistent cut maker. Kim has made seven cuts in a row entering this week and he has made 18-of-25 cuts over the last year. Now, Kim heads to TPC Scottsdale, where he has never missed a cut in three tries, including a T17 two years ago. Kim has shot 67 or better in half of his rounds at TPC Scottsdale and should advance to through the cut at this venue again this week.
