Back on Saturday, the Minnesota Timberwolves handled business with a dominant 131-114 win over the Grizzlies in Memphis. On Monday night, these teams battle once again as one side tries to continue its climb up the Western Conference standings while the other simply attempts to stay afloat amidst a difficult campaign.

Rudy Gobert to record a double-double (-103)
I often like to take a rebounds prop for Rudy Gobert whenever I write about a T-Wolves game, but that O/U of 12.5 feels pretty lofty even despite how good the big man has been this season on the glass. Yes, the Frenchman did record 16 rebounds in each of his two matchups against the Grizzlies so far this campaign, but I don’t think lightning will strike a third time to repeat such an outing. However, I do feel better about his chances to record a double-double and at least pull down 10 boards than I do about targeting either side of that 12.5 line. Gobert has recorded at least 10 rebounds in 32/48 contests this season, including 13 of his last 15 outings. Cleaning the glass isn’t the part we have to feel a little shaky about, simple as that.
The points side of this is a little bit more difficult, but Gobert still gets to double-digits more often than he doesn’t. The hit rate is 27/48 with nine games of 10+ points over his last 15 appearances as well. That bodes pretty well for a double-double tonight, and it’s worth noting the veteran recorded 16 and nine points in his last two matchups with Memphis. A frontcourt of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jock Landale doesn’t strike a ton of fear into the offensive outlook, especially since the former will likely deal with Julius Randle for most of this game (who scored 27 points on Saturday). Moreover, Gobert doesn’t see a ton of shot volume with 6.3 attempts per game… but he is statistically the NBA’s most efficient player from the field with a 70.4% FG%.
Whether it’s via putbacks or lobs, I do like Gobert to record his 23rd double-double of the campaign tonight after notching one in his first game against the Grizz and narrowly missing the mark in his second.
Ty Jerome 15+ points (+178)
One of the more sought-after free agents of this past offseason, Ty Jerome was supposed to bring some scoring pop to the Grizzlies’ guard rotation in his first season with the franchise. After averaging a career-best 12.5 PPG on very efficient shooting splits as the Cavaliers’ sixth man last year, the 28-year-old made his way to Memphis likely in search of a larger role. He was on track to receive a bump in responsibilities with his new team until a calf strain sidelined him just before the season began, keeping him out until last night. In his debut appearance for the Grizz, Jerome popped with 20 points and six assists in just 19 minutes, shooting 6-for-12 from the field but just 2-for-7 from three.
While Jerome is on a minutes restriction per head coach Tuomas Iisalo, there’s a lot to like about his game. The 6-foot-5 guard is a crafty scorer with a variety of moves in his bag, and despite taking one of the league’s toughest shot diets in Cleveland last season, he still shot 51.6% from the field and 43.9% from three-point range. Jerome should add a stabilizing presence to a rotation currently lacking much experience, and for as long as Ja Morant remains out, he could see something of a featured role. I quite like the outlook for him tonight since Memphis may want to see what it has in its signing, and with Jerome already in the starting five, he should see the ball plenty when on the floor. Scoring 15+ points is absolutely achievable given his ability, so the plus value here brings plenty of appeal.
