UPDATE: Steph Curry (knee) won’t return Friday vs. the Pistons.

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry suffered an apparent injury during Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons and is in the locker room.

Near the end of the third quarter, Curry showed signs of discomfort and limped off the floor. He headed back to the locker room shortly after, walking somewhat gingerly. It could potentially be a knee issue given that he’s been on the injury report in recent weeks with such an injury.

Curry played 25 minutes on Friday night, scoring 23 points with two assists and a rebound. He shot 7-for-14 overall and 4-for-10 from three before leaving the court.

In the event Curry misses time, the Warriors will face significant issues. Brandin Podziemski would likely see a bump to the starting point guard role, though De’Anthony Melton could as well.

At age 37, Curry has shown signs of a resurgence for Golden State. His 27.3 PPG are the highest mark for the star over the last three seasons, and while his playmaking numbers are down to 4.9 assists, he remains one of the league’s brightest stars. Shooting 39.0% from deep, he continues to light up the three-point column as well.

Heading into the fourth quarter vs. the Pistons, the Warriors trailed 108-95.

Golden State sits eighth in the Western Conference at 27-22.
