What happened to P.J. Washington? Live injury updates for Mavericks vs. Rockets on 1/31/26

Mavericks forward P.J. Washington won’t return to Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets after suffering a head contusion in the second half.

Washington was replaced by Caleb Martin with 5:19 left in the third quarter after absorbing what appeared to be an errant elbow from teammate Naji Marshall.

He held his head for a while before going back to the locker room.

Before his exit, Washington recorded nine points, four rebounds, and an assist in 32 minutes of work.
