Jamie Mullarkey
Mullarkey, 31, stepped in on short notice after Salkilld’s originally scheduled opponent, Rongzhu, withdrew from Saturday’s bout for undisclosed reasons. He enters on the heels of a unanimous decision win over Rolando Bedoya last September, and he’s looking to record consecutive wins for the first time since 2023.
The freestyle fighter has had an up-and-down run since his UFC debut in Oct. 2019, winning just six of his 12 bouts inside the Octagon. His latest victory followed a year-and-a-half layoff, which he took after enduring back-to-back, first-round knockouts at the hands of Haqparast and rising prospect Mauricio Ruffy.
The veteran striker has been fighting for consistency since he joined the UFC, and he’ll be facing an uphill battle Saturday night against one of the promotion’s most promising prospects.
