Tonight in the Main Event of UFC 325, Alexander Volkanovski is defending his UFC Featherweight Championship against Diego Lopes. Volkanovski defeated Lopes in his last fight at UFC 314 in April 2025 to win the 145-pound title. Since their last fight, Lopes knocked out Jean Silva at Noche UFC in September 2025. This is Volkanovski’s 11th consecutive title fight, and he has a 7-3 record in championship bouts.
Check out my best bet for the Main Event of UFC 325 between Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes below.
Alexander Volkanovski Moneyline (-155)
Even though Volkanovski is 37 years old, he is still the greatest fighter at 145 pounds in the UFC. Volkanovski is a two-time Featherweight Champion but still seems hungry to add to his Hall-of-Fame legacy. If Volkanovski beats Lopes once again, he would tie Jose Aldo for the most UFC Featherweight title wins at eight.
Entering their previous fight, Lopes was the exciting streaking contender, but Volkanovski proved that there are levels to this game. Volkanovski won by unanimous decison (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) while landing 95 more siigifcnat stirkes then Lopes. Even while coming off two previous losses, Volkanovski bounced back and proved that, even as an older fighter, he still can compete at the highest level.
In this matchup, Lopes is the taller fighter (5’11” vs. 5’6″), but Volkanovski closes the gap with his standing reach, as Lopes has only a one-inch advantage in that area. Lopes is talented, but as we saw in their first fight, Volkanovski is the better all-around fighter. Volkanovski averages over two more significant strikes per minute (6.18 vs. 4.10) at a higher rate (56% vs. 48%). Also, Volkanovski is more advanced on the ground.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Volkanovski is a -155 favorite with Lopes being a +130 underdog. This fight has an over/under of 4.5 rounds, with each being -115. This contest is -140 to not go the distance, while it is +100 to go the distance.
Age may be a factor, but Volkanovski has proven he is an outlier and has all the tools to repeat his performance in April against Lopes. This is a favorable matchup for Volkanovski, as he proved in their first fight, using his efficient striking, championship experience, and pace to outwork Lopes over 25 minutes. Also, Volkanovski now enters this second contest with Lopes on a winning streak, which should give him even more confidence for this fight. Ilia Topuria is the only fighter to beat Volkanovski at 145 pounds, as the “Great” one has made all of his other opponents look ordinary.
