Josh Giddey Injury Update: 1/29/26 vs. the Heat

This injury designation was a bit of a rollercoaster. Thanks to a glitch on the NBA’s official injury report, many believed Josh Giddey had been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Heat as of 11:30 a.m. ET this morning. That was not the case. Instead, Giddey has been listed as questionable to suit up due to a hamstring issue.

Giddey is only a week removed from an 11-game injury absence, and he’s yet to take part in a back-to-back since returning to action. On Wednesday, Giddey logged 28.6 minutes in a loss to the Pacers, registering 10 points and seven assists. In an obviously reduced role, Giddey is averaging just 13.5 points, 7.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds in his last four contests — a span where he has even come off the bench three times.

It’s a far cry from the former lottery pick’s numbers for 2025-26 as a whole, as Giddey was nearly averaging a triple-double heading into play late in December. Giddey is second on the Bulls’ in usage at 26.0%, trailing only Coby White. If Giddey ends up unavailable on Thursday, it’s safe to assume that White, Nikola Vucevic and Ayo Dosunmu would be there to pick up the slack on offense.

On the DraftKings Sportsbook, Chicago is a 2.5-point home underdog. The Bulls are 14-11 ATS this season in Chicago.
