The Atlanta Hawks are getting their revenge on the Boston Celtics for a blowout two weeks ago, but it’s coming at a cost. Onyeka Okongwu took a shot to the face, and came out of it looking rough. He won’t be returning to tonight’s game.
If you’re a bit squeamish, don’t look up footage or pictures of the injury. Let’s just say a lengthy visit to the dentist is in Okongwu’s future. He did score some tough guy points by returning and hitting his free throws before leaving, Klay Thompson-style.
Before exiting, OO put up 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in 29 minutes of action. We’ll wait to see what word comes along about Okongwu’s injury status.
