UPDATE: Doncic has returned Wednesday’s game.
Luka Doncic went back to the locker room during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
He was replaced by Rui Hachimura with 7:46 left in the first period after seemingly twisting his ankle near the sidelines, following a step-back three.
Before exiting, Doncic contributed two rebounds and two assists in four minutes of action.
If Doncic is unable to return, then LeBron James would shoulder most of the offensive responsibility for the Lakers.
With Doncic and Austin Reaves off the court this season, James has carried a 37.34% usage rate in a 242-minute sample.
The Lakers next play on Friday against the Wizards.
