Day being the most popular outright bet by handle for the Farmers Insurance Open makes a ton of sense. The Aussie’s resume at this event is incredible. In 16 starts at the Farmers Insurance Open, Day has made 11 cuts and carded seven top-10 finishes, including two victories. On top of the immaculate history at this tournament, Day is coming off a runner-up finish at the American Express last week, which he closed with an 8-under 64 at the Pete Dye Stadium Course in the final round. Day led that field in SGP and these +3300 odds do feel too long for him this week.
Brooks Koepka (+5100)
Koepka will make his anticipated return to the PGA TOUR this week, and him being a trendy pick at this long of a price isn’t surprising in any way. Koepka leaving LIV to rejoin the PGA TOUR was a very controversial move and the five-time major champion obviously would like to prove his worth in his first start back. In addition to the compelling narrative, Koepka’s game does appear to be in a better place after a disappointing season on LIV in 2025, in which he finished 31st of 61 players in the standings. Following his final LIV campaign, Koepka competed at three events overseas, finishing MC, T4th and T15th in those starts. The 35-year-old has shot under par in eight straight rounds. While he is just 1-for-4 in made cuts at the Farmers Insurance Open, he finished T4th at the 2021 U.S. Open played at the South Course of Torrey Pines, which will host three of the four rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open this week.
Ryan Gerard (+4300)
Gerard is another popular pick that has a ton of merit. The 26-year-old finished T15th in his Farmers Insurance Open debut last season and Gerard now returns to Torrey Pines 177 spots higher in the world golf rankings a career-high No. 177. Gerard secured his first PGA TOUR win at the Barracuda Championship last July, and he has nearly won in each of his last three starts, finishing runner-up at the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open, the Sony Open and the American Express. Gerard has shot under par in 20 consecutive rounds worldwide, including a final-round 7-under 65 at the Pete Dye Stadium Course last week.
Will Zalatoris (+4700)
Zalatoris appears to be fully healthy again after his 2025 season was cut short due to back surgery. He had the procedure done in May, and in his first two starts back, he has finished T15th at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and T18th at the American Express last week. Zalatoris gained strokes in every major category in La Quinta last week, which is the first time he has accomplished this since August of 2024. Now, the Californian heads to Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open, where he has finished inside the top-15 in three of his last four starts at the event. Zalatoris finished runner-up at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open and he is one of the best outright bets to consider this week at these +4700 odds.
Xander Schauffele (+1475)
Schauffele is the favorite to win the Farmers Insurance Open and like most favorites in golf, him being a popular choice is expected. After making some serious noise at the Ryder Cup, finishing in a tie for the most points for Team USA, Schauffele went on to win the Baycurrent Classic in his next solo start. Schauffele now has 10 career wins to his name and the No. 6 ranked player in the world should contend at Torrey Pines. Schauffele finished runner-up at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open, which is one of his three top-13 finishes in his last four starts at the event. Also, when the South Course hosted the 2021 U.S. Open, the California native finished T7th.
