2026 Farmers Insurance Open Picks: Golf Best Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

2026 Farmers Insurance Open Picks: Golf Best Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

The PGA TOUR remains in California this week for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. Since 1968, Torrey Pines has been the site of the Farmers Insurance Open. There will be 145 players competing this week and each golfer will play one round on the South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards, POA greens) and the North Course (par 72, 7,258 yards, bentgrass greens) of Torrey Pines. Then, there will be a top-65 and ties cut and the players who advance will play their final two rounds at the South Course. Harris English (-8) is the defending champion of the Farmers Insurance Open and the South Course of Torrey Pines also hosted the 2021 U.S. Open and the 2025 Genesis Invitational.

Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the Farmers Insurance Open on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Hideki Matsuyama to win (+3100)

Matsuyama is a must-bet at these long odds. The former Masters champion has made 10-of-12 cuts at the Farmers Insurance Open, including a T-3 in 2019 and a T-9 in 2023. Matsuyama also finished T-13 at the South Course of Torrey Pines for the Genesis Invitational last season. While an unofficial event, Matsuyama just won the Hero World Challenge last month. If including this victory, he has won 12 times in his career and half of these wins have come in the months of January or February.

Matsuyama clearly has a knack for playing his best golf early in the season and him contending at Torrey Pines this weekend wouldn’t be a surprise in any way. Matsuyama has made 15 cuts in a row worldwide and nine of these finishes have been top-20 results, including a T-13 at the Sony Open two weeks ago.

Max Homa to win (+5000)

After a disappointing 2025 campaign, Homa looks poised for a big bounce-back season in 2026 and him rejoining the winner’s circle at Torrey Pines would be very fitting. Homa has made five cuts in a row and three of these finishes have been top-20 results. Ranking top-10 in both SGT2G and SG APP when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, Homa is striking the ball at a high level right now and the Berkeley product boasts an impressive resume at Torrey Pines.

Homa won the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open by two shots and he has finished inside the top-20 in four of his last five starts at this event, when excluding his first-round withdrawal last season. Homa has won six times on the PGA TOUR and four of these victories have come in California, so it’s safe to say he likes competing in his home state.

Another positive is that the South Course of Torrey Pines features POA greens and when we compare this field’s last 50 rounds at venues with POA putting surfaces, Homa ranks sixth in strokes gained per round.
