Anthony Edwards entered Monday without an injury designation for tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors. With a roughly an hour and a half before tipoff, though, the Timberwolves downgraded Edwards to questionable. A few minutes later, he was downgraded to out entirely.
The official designation is injury maintenance and there’s been no mention of a specific situation that caused a degradation. Edwards has been dealing with a right foot issue since the start of the new year, but he’s only missed two games. Over the last four games, Edwards averaged 37 minutes.
With Edwards unable to go on Monday, Mike Conley will likely enter the starting lineup. In the last two games Edwards missed, Conley played 21 and 26 minutes. With Edwards off the court this season, Julius Randle has also seen the biggest usage bump of 3.93 percentage points to 31.18%.
After Monday’s game, Minnesota has a back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday.
