Justin Gaethje defeated Paddy Pimblett by unanimous decision (48-47, 49-46, 49-46) to become the UFC Lightweight Interim Champion. Gaethje will now likely face the Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria for the Undisputed title in the coming months.

Before the fight, Gaethje was +550 to win this fight by decision on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Pimblett is now 7-1 in the UFC since his debut in September 2021. Also, Pimblett’s winning streak has come to an end, and this is his first loss since 2018. Gaethje, 37, is now 4-1 in his previous five fights and is 2-2 in Undisputed and Interim title bouts.

Pimblett landed 12 more significant strikes than Pimblett did in this contest (156-144). Also, Gaethje recorded 5:55 of control time while completing all three of his takedown attempts.
