For the second day in a row, the NBA has eight games on the board on Friday night, with the Nuggets, Rockets and Blazers completing back-to-backs. One of my favorite ways to attack juicy slates like this is by looking across all the contests and pinpointing a few players who stand out for their three-pointers made (3PM) props on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Cheering for specific players to hit three-pointers (or not hit three-pointers) is a fun way to enjoy the action, and DraftKings Sportsbook has plenty of player props on the board to consider.
Normally, I try to target lower three-point prop totals so that they can hit quickly, either early or late, without needing lots of build-up. Let’s dive into my top four three-point prop bets for tonight’s NBA slate.
Jaylen Wells Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-143)
As I broke down in my DFS NBA Stacks for Friday, Ja Morant and Santi Aldama are both out for the Grizzlies, who host the Pelicans in what should be a smash spot for the rest of the rotation.
Wells has averaged 1.7 3PM per game on the season. He gets a little more usage without Morant and without Aldama, although this will be the first time that both have missed the same contest this season. Wells had two 3PM on Wednesday without Aldama and went over this prop for a second straight game.
He has gone over this prop in 13 of his last 20 games dating back to the start of December, and he seems to have recovered from a nagging hamstring issue that held him back for some of those under games earlier in January. With a little extra responsibility in the offense, he should be a good source of three-pointers Friday.
Cason Wallace Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+125)
In a similar situation with the same prop line, Wallace’s 3PM are a solid prop play to consider. If you want a “safer” option, his teammate Luguentz Dort’s over 1.5 3PM is -172, and can be added to SGP or SGPx, but I’m comfortable backing Wallace and his longer odds as more of a standalone option.
The Thunder will be without Jalen Williams, Alex Caruso, Ajay Mitchell and Aaron Wiggins, leaving lots of offensive work on the wings for Dort, Wallace and Isaiah Joe. Wallace is averaging 1.3 3PM per game this year, but in an expanded role in what should be a high-scoring game against the Pacers, I think he’ll be able to go over that average.
The third-year guard has bounced in and out of the starting lineup, but he’s hit over 1.5 threes in three of his last five games, and got the start on Wednesday, going 2-for-6 from long range. Like with Wells, more playing time and opportunity open the door for Wallace to drop at least two 3PM.
Zach LaVine Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-104)
While his defense has come under fire in the last week, LaVine continues to score plenty of points and make enough three-pointers to take his over when he leads the Kings into Cleveland to face the Cavs — who happen to be giving up a lot of points lately.
LaVine made at least three three-pointers in six straight games before Wednesday’s matchup against the Raptors, when he had only two 3PM. He still had plenty of chances in that contest, though, going 2-for-8 from long-range while playing 38 minutes. If he keeps getting that many looks and opportunities on Friday, he should bounce back and get over this almost even-money prop on Friday night.
Brandon Ingram Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-129)
The Raptors are in Portland for the final game of the night, and they could get back R.J. Barrett (ankle) and Collin Murray-Boyles (thumb), who are both listed as questionable. Even with those players possibly returning, I think Ingram has a great chance to keep delivering on this prop.
BI has at least two 3PM in five straight games. He had four 3PM and three 3PM in his last two games, respectively, while helping carry more of the offense, and he has been a very big part of Toronto’s recent success on offense.
Getting Barrett in the mix could take some of the offensive workload off Ingram long term, but it’s likely that after missing seven games, Barrett will be eased back in. The Raptors should be able to score plenty of points in Portland, and Ingram should deliver multiple 3PM along the way.
