What happened to Jonathan Kuminga? Live injury updates for Warriors vs. Mavericks on Thursday 1/22/26

UPDATE: Kuminga will not return.

With 3:52 left in the second quarter of Thursday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Jonathan Kuminga was replaced by Gui Santos. Kuminga got the ball after a blocked shot and raced down the court. He injured his leg after attempting to go up for a layup. Kuminga is now in the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Kuminga contributed 10 points, a rebound, two assists and two steals in nine minutes of action off the bench.

If he’s unable to return, Gary Payton II and De’Anthony Melton would be the likely beneficiaries.

If Kuminga is ruled out for the rest of the game, he would be eligible for DraftKings Early Exit since he exited the game prior to halftime.
