What happened to Deni Avdija? Live injury updates for Trail Blazers vs. Heat on Thursday 1/22/26

With 10:03 left in the third quarter of Thursday’s game against the Miami Heat, Deni Avdija was replaced by Caleb Love. Avdija has been dealing with a back issue and re-aggravated it. He has now been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Prior to exiting, Avdija contributed 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes of action.

If Avdija misses an extended period of time, Sidy Cissoko would likely enter the starting lineup for him. Jerami Grant is also an option but he’s just returning from an extended absence himself.
