Stephen Curry Under 27.5 Points (-124)
Curry has hit a shooting slump. Over his last five games, the former MVP is averaging just 16.6 points per game, while shooting 44.8% from the floor and 35.7% from deep. And, contrary to popular belief, Jimmy Butler’s season-ending injury likely won’t boost Curry’s role or numbers. He has scored only 14 and 16 points in two games without Butler this season, and his usage rate hasn’t moved much with the forward off the floor.
Factoring in a tough matchup with the Mavericks’ defense, Curry should fall below his 27.5-point scoring line Thursday night. This season, Dallas ranks seventh in defensive rating, while allowing the NBA’s second-fewest opponent threes on the worst perimeter efficiency (32.9%).
Naji Marshall Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-126)
Ever since Anthony Davis went down earlier this month, Marshall has stepped up and seems well-positioned to clear 24.5 combined points, rebounds, and assists Thursday night. Handing a 24.3% usage rate, he’s averaging a team-high 19.5 points, along with 5.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists — 29.6 PRA — over his last six games.
Marshall has posted at least 27 PRA in five games during this stretch, and the Warriors should be an easier matchup than usual without Butler. Golden State just allowed 145 to the Raptors on Tuesday, and the Warriors’ defensive rating is 4.6 points per 100 possessions worse with him off the floor.
Brandin Podziemski Over 3.5 Assists (-129)
Podziemski’s assist rate increases 1.1 percentage points to 18.9% with Butler off the floor this season. And since Butler went down with a season-ending knee injury, Podziemski’s role as a playmaker has been very encouraging. The 22-year-old has totalled nine assists over the last two games, while leading the Warriors with 11 potential assists per game.
Podziemski should receive 25 to 30 minutes on Thursday night in his elevated role. While the Mavs are a difficult matchup, his 3.5-assist line is too low for the guard, with Butler out of the picture.
