Thursday’s NHL slate features eight games, with first puck drop set for 7:00 p.m. ET. The Penguins and Red Wings played last night and will be the only teams operating on zero days’ rest.

Best NHL props for Thursday 1/22/26
Jack Eichel 4+ Shots on Goal (+115)
The Golden Knights rank ninth in shots per game, with the Bruins ranking fifth in shots allowed per game. On the season, Eichel has averaged 6.4 shot attempts per game, but across the last 10 games, that figure has increased to 7.3. As a result, the 29-year-old has cleared 4+ SOG in six of his last seven games.
Eichel ranks 13th in the NHL in 5v5 shots on goal per 60, and he should be able to take advantage of the Bruins’ weaknesses. Boston has allowed the fourth-most shots per game to opposing centers this season, and it ranks sixth in high-danger chances against. Eichel also has a strong history against the Bruins, averaging 4.5 shots per game across the past four outings against them.
Josh Doan 1+ Point (-105)
Doan has quietly been one of the Sabres’ best acquisitions in recent years, and his hard work this season seemingly paid off, considering he just signed a contract extension to stay in Buffalo for the next seven years. The Sabres just beat the Canadiens one week ago, with Doan totaling two points. He is the heart and soul of this Sabres team right now, given his willingness to make plays defensively, and the Canadiens’ goaltending is questionable enough that this prop is screaming value.
Montreal will start Sam Montembeault tonight, who has had an up-and-down season, with a short stint in the AHL. Out of 90 eligible goaltenders, Montembeault ranks 77th in goals saved above expected and 66th in SV% above expected. He is coming off a game in which he allowed five goals, and Montreal has allowed 3.3 goals per game since the start of the new year. Doan ranks fourth on the team in 5v5 points per 60.
