It’s a west coast showdown for two squads on the second leg of back-to-back sets.
The Raptors will visit the Kings after dropping a season-high 145 points on the Warriors, while Sacramento will look to rebound after a lopsided defeat at the hands of the Heat. Toronto is seven games above .500 and is knocking on the door of the third seed in the Eastern Conference. At the other end of the spectrum, the Kings have lost nine of their last 13 matchups and are once again staring down a trip to the lottery.
Let’s preview this mid-week tilt with the help of some of some odds and lines on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
Raptors at Kings prediction, preview
Editor’s Note: Raptors SF RJ Barrett (ankle) has been ruled out Wednesday vs. the Kings.
As of writing, we don’t have official injury reports for this contest, but I think we can safely make a couple of assumptions. Domantas Sabonis finally returned last week from a 27-game absence caused by a partial meniscus tear in his left knee. However, he has not started any of the three games he has been available for, as the Kings have opted to play it safe with their big trade deadline chip. As such, I have my doubts that Sabonis even suits up on the second night of a back-to-back, after he registered six points and 10 rebounds in 17.0 minutes on Tuesday evening. That should keep rookie Maxime Raynaud in the starting lineup. It’ll also mean large usage rates for DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook.
Conversely, RJ Barrett is reportedly nearing a return. In fact, according to the Sportsnet broadcast last night, the Canadian wing is confident that he’ll come back from a six-game absence in Sacramento. It would be a sight for sore eyes for the Raptors. Barrett was most recently sidelined by an ankle issue, but he also missed 15 contests earlier in 2025-26 thanks to a knee sprain. The former third-overall pick is having the most efficient campaign of his career — Barrett is managing a career-best .560 effective field goal rate — yet he’s been limited to only 23 starts.
At this point, Toronto simply needs healthy bodies. Despite a very encouraging offensive performance at Golden State, the Raptors were without four rotation pieces in Barrett, Collin Murray-Boyles (thumb), Jakob Poeltl (back) and Ja’Kobe Walter (hip). That meant a massive workload for Scottie Barnes, who logged nearly 39 minutes, even with his team leading by double-digits for a majority of the second half. The soon-to-be two-time All-Star finished with 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds; though that showing was outshined by his teammate Immanuel Quickley. On top of matching a career-high with 40 points, Quickley became the first player in NBA history to score 40 points, dish out 10 dimes, hit at least five three-pointers and shoot over 80% from the field. Not too shabby at all.
Raptors at Kings pick, best bet
Best Bet: Raptors -5.5 (-118)
Let’s just keep things simple. The Kings are just 17-27 ATS this season — the worst mark of any Western Conference squad. They also own the West’s lowest net rating (-9.6). The Raptors aren’t at full strength, but should be able to take care of business.
