Tonight’s game against a struggling Grizzlies squad could be just what the doctor ordered, especially with Memphis 3-7 across its last 10 contests.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker over 27.5 PTS + REB + AST (-121)
Is it too early to write in Nickeil Alexander-Walker as a candidate to win Most Improved Player? The 27-year-old is in his ninth NBA season and has truly excelled with the greatest share of minutes he’s seen throughout his career with 32.9 per game. In his first year with the Hawks, the veteran posts a career-best 20.7 PPG, 3.6 REB and 3.5 AST while pitching in a little bit of something across every stat category. Alexander-Walker has more than doubled his scoring average from the last five campaigns and looks the part of a key rotational piece for Atlanta.
While he started slow this season with 11 straight games under 27.5 combined PRA, the wing has gone over that total in 19 of 32 contests since then and finds himself on a hot streak. He comes off a contest with 44 PRA, his third-best mark of the season, and has eclipsed 27.5 in seven of his last 10 outings as well. With an average of 27.8 PRA and injury absences for Kristaps Porzingis and Zaccharie Risacher tonight against Memphis, there are plenty of ways for Alexander-Walker to go over this line on Wednesday.
Jock Landale 12+ points (-126)
Sticking with the trend of veterans upping their production, the Grizzlies’ Jock Landale has emerged as a legitimate starting-caliber center. While not a high-end option at the position, the 30-year-old Australian is playing well in a key role for his team while Zach Edey remains sidelined. In 22.8 minutes per game, Landale averages 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds, also shooting 52.6% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range. After never finding a consistent role with his past stops, it appears he’s landed somewhere he can play his best basketball within the expectations of his role.
While 12+ points isn’t the most exciting play by any means, Landale should certainly be able to hit that mark tonight. He’s played well as of late with at least 12 points in seven of his last 10 outings, hitting put-back attempts and the occasional shot from beyond the arc to keep defenses honest. His volume of shot attempts is modest, but the efficiency and matchup are quite good here. Atlanta gives up the ninth-most points in the paint to opponents as well as the sixth-most points in general. That weak defense also won’t have Kristaps Porzingis as mentioned earlier, leaving the unit more vulnerable on the interior. This looks like a super solid pick.
