What happened to Deandre Ayton? Live injury updates for Lakers vs. Nuggets on 1/20/26

UPDATE: Ayton won’t return to Tuesday’s game against the Nuggets.

UPDATE: Ayton is questionable to return vs. the Nuggets with a left eye injury.

Deandre Ayton did not return to the floor for the start of the second half of Tuesday’s game vs. the Nuggets. He was replaced by Jaxson Hayes at the start of the second half. It’s unclear what the issue is for Ayton, but he was hit in the face towards the end of the half.

Before exiting, he played 15 minutes. He scored four points and added eight rebounds.
