Tuesday night brings hoops fans a seven-game slate of NBA action on the hardwood. The slate tips off at 7 p.m. EST when the Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns head to Philadelphia to battle Tyrese Maxey and the 76ers. Both teams are in playoff position if the season were to end today, so this has the makings of a fun and fully bet-worthy contest.

Mark Williams over 7.5 rebounds (-125)
There’s no Joel Embiid tonight for Philadelphia, leaving Andre Drummond or Adem Bona as the primary big man for the Sixers here. The former is a threat in the paint, but the latter isn’t quite as physical of a presence down low. Either way, Suns center Mark Williams has notched at least eight boards in exactly half of his games this season and finds himself in position to do so again tonight. Phoenix’s young big man averages 8.3 boards per game this season and comes off back-to-back contests in which he notched at least eight rebounds, one of which was against Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks. While he doesn’t often receive over 30 minutes, Williams’ 7-foot-1 height makes him a walking mismatch and he’s generally playing pretty good ball while filling his role quite well. The Sixers do rank 18th in REB% and are 21st in opponent rebounds allowed with 45.0 per game. With a thinner rotation of bigs without Embiid, they’re vulnerable. Williams can take advantage of that to pull down eight boards, and a double-double at +406 odds also looks really nice.
VJ Edgecombe under 15.5 points (-102)
The Sixers’ prized rookie appeared on pace to take the league by storm at points this season, but VJ Edgecombe is still a young player at the end of the day. Consistent success doesn’t come for a while upon joining the NBA, at least for most players, and the No. 3 pick now gets the chance to learn from some of the low points. Edgecombe averages 15.6 PPG this season while shooting 37.7% from three but only 42.7% from the field overall. The last couple of weeks have been somewhat rough, scoring more than 15.5 points just once in seven games since January 7. Over that span, he’s scored 11, 10, nine, 15, 17, six and 13 points — an average of 11.6 PPG while seeing an inconsistent workload with a drop to 39.4% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc. The cold streak will end eventually, but the matchup with a Suns squad allowing the fifth-fewest PPG to opponents probably won’t be when it happens. Plus, Paul George could be back in the lineup tonight to absorb more shots (though he’s questionable as of publication).
