Indiana vs. Michigan (7:00 p.m. ET)
Michigan is 6-1 in Big Ten play while Indiana is 3-4 in the conference this season. The Wolverines are returning home after two wins over Washington and Oregon by 10 points each. Morez Johnson Jr. and Yaxel Lendeborg both average 14.1 points per contest to lead Michigan this season. Elliot Cadeau is Michigan’s lead guard, averaging 10 points and 5.2 assists per game. Even though Michigan isn’t undefeated anymore, it is still No. 1 on KenPom with the second-highest defensive rating and fifth-highest offensive rating.
Meanwhile, Indiana is 37th on KenPom, with an offensive rating of 42nd and a defensive rating of 52nd. Indiana began the season 7-0 and has since gone 5-6 in their previous 11 contests. Lamar Wilkerson (19.6 PPG), Tucker DeVries (14.2 PPG), and Tayton Conerway (12.1 PPG) are Indiana’s only three players averaging double-digit points.
Indiana’s last three losses have come by at least 16 points. Even though Michigan’s last three victories have been by 10 points twice and by two points, it has won 11 games this season by 16-plus points. Indiana has struggled on offense recently, totaling 57, 60, and 77 points in their previous three games. That shouldn’t bode well against an elite defensive team in Michigan, which has only allowed 80-plus points to an opponent twice this season. Michigan hasn’t won three straight games this season by fewer than 16 points each.
