The 2025-26 CFB Playoffs were filled with upsets galore. Six lower-seeded teams advanced in their matchups with the 10 seed Miami Hurricanes eventually making it to the National Championship to face the 1 seed Indiana Hoosiers. In the end, the Hoosiers triumphed with the best coach and Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback.
Now it’s time to look forward to the 2026-27 CFB championship odds. Here’s the field as things currently stand:

The Indiana Hoosiers are in play for the repeat, as the +700 odds to win next year’s championship are the lowest, tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State was the 2 seed in the 2025 CFB Playoffs but lost to the Hurricanes. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza will have one season of eligibility left, but he’s expected to be the number one overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, so the Hoosiers will likely have to attempt the repeat with another quarterback under center.
Notre Dame did not make the 2025-26 CFB Playoffs, but quarterback CJ Carr will be back and the Irish have one of the best incoming recruiting classes. Texas also missed the 2025-26 CFB Playoffs, but the Longhorns will get Arch Manning back, a young quarterback who didn’t fulfill lofty expectations but has excellent pedigree and potential.
The 2025-26 CFB National Champion Runners-up, Miami Hurricanes, are down at +2000 to win it next season.
