How’s a 10-game NHL slate sound to start the week off? Monday brings a ton of action for puckheads with some early start times and matchups staggered 30 minutes apart for most of the evening. Kirill Kaprizov 4+ shots on goal (-130)
The Wild took a couple of massive hits to the lineup late last week with Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek both landing on injured reserve for the moment. That means the team will be without its second and fourth-leading pointscorers in the top-six rotation, so a stretch of poorer play may not be shocking to see from the franchise over the coming weeks. However, it could translate to more shot attempts for Kirill Kaprizov, who may need to take on an even more aggressive role to try and keep his team afloat as the primary star. He already leads the Wild with 168 shots this season for an average of 3.43 per game, but putting as many pucks on net will prove key without two of his top teammates active. Tonight, Minnesota plays a Maple Leafs team allowing an NHL-high 31.4 shot attempts per outing, so Kaprizov should tally at least four himself.
Jack Eichel 2+ points (+110)
Well, the rich get richer, don’t they? The Golden Knights landed star defenseman Rasmus Andersson in a blockbuster trade yesterday, adding another high-upside talent to a team with Stanley Cup aspirations. Having another puck-moving D-man will prove helpful for Vegas, even if it comes to the chagrin of just about every other fanbase in the league. He could debut tonight, which would only add more firepower as the team rides a seven-game winning streak into a matchup with the Flyers. Star forward Jack Eichel has been hot during this stretch with a point in eight straight games and 10 points across his last four contests. He notched a combined seven points across a back-to-back last week and has two-plus points in three of his last four contests (as well as four of his last six). With the ninth-most points of any NHL skater on a team that should be energized with an added boost to the lineup, watch for Eichel to produce again tonight at plus odds.
