New England ranked 16th in rushing EPA, but across its last six games, that ranking dropped to 24th. Marks totaled 19 rushing attempts and 112 yards in the Wild Card Round against the Steelers, and I’d expect the Texans to lean on him again against the Patriots.
I don’t expect the Patriots to be able to score enough points to force the Texans to be in pass-first mode, which should result in an even game script for Marks to receive plenty of run. Plus, considering how bad C.J. Stroud looked against Pittsburgh, it wouldn’t be shocking for the gameplan to be run-heavy. While Houston’s run game has been abysmal for the majority of the season, it is smartest to keep the ball out of Drake Maye’s hands and sustain long drives.
