The Seattle Seahawks won the NFC West with a 14-3 record. After dispatching the division rival San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round, all the Seahawks have to do for a Super Bowl appearance is beat another NFC West rival in the Los Angeles Rams. Easy Peasy right? Well, the Seahawks, Rams and 49ers all had a 4-2 division record with the Seahawks and Rams splitting their season series.

Here are the opening odds for that matchup:

During the regular season, both teams won at home during the head-to-head matchups.

In Week 11, Los Angeles triumphed, 21-19, while in Week 16, Seattle eeked out the overtime win, 38-37.

The Seahawks defense is stifling and one of the best in the league. The rush defense allowed the lowest EPA per carry with 3.7 yards per carry and nine rushing touchdowns, the second-fewest, during the regular season. The pass defense produced the seventh-lowest EPA per dropback with 20 touchdowns allowed, 18 interceptions, a 62.5 completion percentage and 47 sacks, tied for the sixth-most. The pressure rate was sixth-best.

Matthew Stafford went 29-of-49 for 457 yards and three touchdowns during the Week 16 matchup, though.

On offense, the EPA per carry was the eighth-lowest while averaging 4.1 yards per carry during the regular season. They scored 19 rushing touchdowns, though. The pass offense produced the eighth-highest EPA per dropback with 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The completion percentage was 67.6 while only 27 sacks were taken.

The Rams had the fifth-highest EPA per carry during the regular season, averaging 4.6 yards per carry and scoring 17 rushing touchdowns. Stafford was simply amazing, guiding the passing attack to the second-highest EPA per dropback with 46 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He finished with 4,707 yards and was sacked only 23 times.

On defense, Los Angeles posted the 14th-lowest EPA per carry, allowing 4.3 yards per carry while relinquishing only eight rushing touchdowns. The pass defense had the ninth-lowest EPA per dropback. The unit allowed 26 passing touchdowns and a 64 completion percentage. 16 interceptions were racked up with 47 sacks, tied for the sixth-most. The pressure rate was fourth-most.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
