The Patriots host the Texans in one of the most interesting games of the Divisional Round.
New England is a three-point home favorite at -175 on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 40.5 points.
Here are my top Dalton Schultz prop bets for the Texans vs. Patriots Divisional Round matchup on Sunday.
Best Dalton Schultz Prop Bets
The Texans will need a big game out of veteran tight end Dalton Schultz on Sunday. Houston won a playoff game for the third straight season, but is looking to get past the Wild Card Round finally. The Texans will have to do so without star wide receiver Nico Collins. Collins is out for this game, leaving a wide receiver corps led by Christian Kirk and a collection of inexperienced players. That means C.J. Stroud will be depending on his experienced tight end to step up to the plate.
It has been a solid season for Dalton Schultz. Among NFL tight ends, he ranks third in receptions, sixth in receiving yards and sixth in total EPA. He should do well against a Patriots defense that has struggled to stop tight ends this season. New England ranks 21st in the NFL in receiving yards per game allowed to opposing tight ends and 24th in receptions per game allowed to opposing tight ends. Schultz has stepped up for Stroud in the postseason in the past. Last season, he had 63 receiving yards in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs. In the season prior to that, he had 43 receiving yards in the Divisional Round against the Ravens.
My favorite Dalton Schultz prop bet is for him to go over 40.5 receiving yards. Schultz has cleared this number in the Divisional Round in each of the last two seasons. Without Collinson the field, Stroud should look his way often, especially against a Patriots defense that has struggled to stop tight ends. Schultz also went over this number in eight of his last 13 regular-season games as well. He should turn in a good performance and clear this number against New England.
