Guard

Stud

James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers at Washington Wizards ($10,000)

Kawhi Leonard missed last game and Harden garnered a whopping 41.4% usage rate, finishing with 53 FPTS. Leonard is out for a few more games, so the Harden show will go on. The matchup is a great one as Washington is seventh in pace and 29th in defensive rating.

Other Options: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,500), Kyshawn George ($6,800)

Value

Jordan Miller, Los Angeles Clippers at Washington Wizards ($5,400)

As mentioned above in the Harden section, this should be a fantasy-friendly environment because Washington plays fast and eschews defense. Over the last two games, Miller has played 34 and 46 minutes off the bench due to a bevy of injuries for Los Angeles. Miller has delivered 39.5 and 36 FPTS over that span, with one of those games against Washington.

Other Options: Ajay Mitchell ($5,100), Kris Dunn ($4,700), Cam Christie ($3,300)

Forward

Stud

Chet Holmgren, Oklahoma City Thunder at Cleveland Cavaliers ($7,700)

With Isaiah Hartenstein out, Holmgren has been playing center and delivering all the big man stats – rebounds and blocks. Over the last five games, he’s pulled down at least nine rebounds in all with four of those contests in double-digits. He’s also racked up at least three blocks in every contest with a high of five. That’s translated to over 40 FPTS in four of the five games. The one game he missed was due to blowout, as he played only 25 minutes.

Value

Aaron Wiggins, Oklahoma City Thunder at Cleveland Cavaliers ($4,600)

Wiggins has finished with over 20 FPTS in six of the last seven games, with a high of 30.2 FPTS. Known more for his shooting, Wiggins has delivered some defensive stats over that span – seven blocks and eight steals. With Jalen Williams ruled out, the playing time in the high-20s seems secure.

Other Options: John Collins ($6,000), Jordan Miller ($5,400), Justin Champagnie ($4,900)

Center

Stud

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers at Washington Wizards ($7,000)

The production has been all over the map for Zubac recently, as he’s finished with fewer than 20 FPTS twice in the last seven games, but has four games over 30 FPTS with a high of 43.8 FPTS. I lean toward Zubac producing near the upper range of outcomes due to the matchup. Washington plays fast and is one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Harden should have no issues breaking down the defense, setting up easy chippies for Zubac, while Zubac should be able to muscle Alex Sarr down low in the paint.

Other Options: Alex Sarr ($6,600)

Value

John Collins, Los Angeles Clippers at Washington Wizards ($6,000)

I’m not thrilled with this recommendation, especially since Collins finished with 10.8 FPTS in 30 minutes last game with Leonard out. That said, the matchup is juicy and the up-and-down nature of the game should fit Collins well. Two games ago, Collins put up 52.8 FPTS, so at least he’s proven he can hit a ceiling outcome.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
