Cleveland Cavaliers star guard Darius Garland received another tough injury break, and has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 toe sprain in his right foot. Garland will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days and miss a minimum of four games, the team announced.

On the positive side, this is not the same toe injury that Garland previously dealt with. That issue required surgery in the summer, and he re-aggravated it earlier this season. The latest injury occurred during Wednesday’s 133-107 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, when Garland went down awkwardly after being stripped by Jabari Walker.

When he has been on the court this season, Garland is averaging 18 points, 6.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds, while shooting 36% on three-point attempts. The two-time All-Star has been available for 26 of 43 games thus far.

It has been an underwhelming start to the season for the Cleveland, after posting an Eastern Conference-best 64-18 record last year. The Cavaliers are currently in fifth place in the East, with a 24-19 record on the year. However, they have shown some flashes of getting back on the right track, winning seven of their previous 10 games.

Expect Cleveland to be a bit cautious in their approach with the All-Star guard given his injury history.

The Cavaliers are +600, the fourth-best odds to win the East, on DraftKings Sportsbook. Cleveland also is tied for the ninth-best odds of winning the NBA championship at +3000 odds.
