Sunday brings us more NFL Playoffs action with the final game of the Divisional Round kicking off at 6:30 p.m. EST. The Los Angeles Rams hit the road and head to Soldier Field for a potential shootout against the Chicago Bears, meaning Matthew Stafford will need to be on his A-game to survive and advance to the NFC Championship Game.
Los Angeles is a 4.5-point road favorite with the game total set at 48.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Here are the best Matthew Stafford prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Rams vs. Bears on Sunday’s edition of the NFL Divisional Round.
Best Matthew Stafford prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Matthew Stafford needs no introduction. A one-time Super Bowl champ and one of two leading candidates to win this season’s MVP, the veteran quarterback remains one of the NFL’s elite field generals. The 37-year-old paced the league with 4,707 passing yards and 46 passing touchdowns during the regular season, completing 65.0% of his passes with just eight interceptions. He led the Rams to a 12-5 record and took them downfield for a game-winning drive in last week’s Wild Card game against the Carolina Panthers as well, throwing for 304 yards and three scores in the process. No doubt about it; he’s well equipped to handle business in the Divisional.
Stafford and the Rams are likely salivating heading into this matchup. Chicago allowed 24.6 points per game this season and 2.9 touchdowns per game, the 23rd and 29th-ranked marks in the NFL. The pass defense was particularly vulnerable with 232.5 passing yards allowed per game, 25th in the league, as well as 32 passing touchdowns, fourth-most of any team. The Bears also ranked 17th in defensive EPA/pass and 25th in opponent completion percentage, so there’s plenty of reason to believe in the Rams’ prop lines this week.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Stafford’s prop bet lines are set at O/U 34.5 pass attempts, 22.5 completions, 266.5 passing yards and 2.5 touchdowns. His longest completion prop comes in at 38.5 yards.
The Los Angeles passing game and its leader are set up for success here against one of the NFL’s weakest secondaries. Stafford’s prop bet lines may feel high, but he averaged 276.9 passing yards and 2.7 touchdowns per game during the regular season. Over his four seasons with the Rams, his postseason marks sit at 299.0 passing yards and 2.25 touchdowns per contest as well. He’s a talent who tends to rise under pressure and should be able to pick apart this Bears unit with ease, especially given the pass-catching talent he has to work with in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and a litany of solid tight ends.
If I had to pick any prop bet for this one, I lean toward an alt line of 280+ passing yards for Stafford. The signal caller hit that mark in nine of his 18 appearances thus far this year and now enters a potential shootout script in a game with the highest total of the Divisional Round at 48.5, setting the stage for plenty of throws. Given his playoff pedigree with L.A. and the fact the Bears have allowed 300+ passing yards in three consecutive games (all of which included similar game scripts), the plus value makes 280+ yards a compelling pick on Sunday evening.
Best Bet: Matthew Stafford 280+ passing yards (+119)
